Does anybody know what date baby great-**** leave their nest? I am getting quite interested in wildlife. This year we have great-**** in our bird box. I haven't seen any activity for a couple of days so I am wondering if they have already flown. I did see one of the parents taking grubs in over a few days but I wouldn't say it got very busy so maybe something has gone wrong. Are any of you out there experts on wildlife who can pass your knowledge on to me? |
They often leave the nest in the evening, to provide cover of darkness while they get used to the great outdoors, so it's quite possible they've flown while you weren't looking. We happened to spot ours doing just that.
If you're worried, I'd leave it for several days until you're sure there's no activity before you look. |
How do I attract Blue and Great **** to feed and nest in my garden? I live in England,
I have a wire mesh cylinder feeder under an archway covered in ivy,
I have a seed feeder (also under the arch)
And fat balls in a few places.
The feeder is nearly always covered in house sparrows and no other birds seem to want to come.
I also lots of bird boxes all over the garden,
On the kitchen extension,In the hedge ect, ect...
I was just wondering how to attract their attention
Thanks :D |
Bluetits and great **** certainly do love peanuts. I have two peanut feeders and several pairs of each come regularly, plus the occasional coal tit. You are doing well to have sparrows though as although they used to be so common they are getting scarcer. Take care to position your bird boxes properly, for **** this will be around 8-10 feet high, and facing away from the sun and the prevailing wind, which in many gardens means facing north west. Don't have them too near the house though. The hedge is not a good place for a tit box, but its just what a robin would like - but robin boxes are different from tit boxes - they have an opening all the way across the front rather than just a little hole. Also different sizes of hole appeal to different sorts of birds. Take a look at the RSPB website, which has lots of information. It seems a shame that you are having so little success after so much effort.
One final thought - don't be shy of using the proper name for the birds! The old name was titmouse, but that isn't used any more. |
Great **** raised a family in a nesting box I put in my garden. I was looking forward to seeing the? fledglings, but suddenly yesterday, the feeding and activity stopped. I finally looked at the nest, fearing it had been abandoned only to find it empty save one egg. Does fledging happen that quickly, out of the nest and off all in a few hours when I wasn't looking, or do you think a cat got them? |
Shhh you'll frighten the Americans using real names for birds that sound like body parts, they would have locked Janet Jackson up for that if she hadn't been so rich!
Doesn't sound good if you have a lot of cats around, maybe we can call them Great Breasts, let's see if that gets censored! |
Female great dane with swollen **** 2 months after first heat cycle is it normal? Our one year old dane had her first heat cycle and she started to swell and even bag up a little about three weeks after. She has gotten a little bigger in that area since then. She did not have any contact with a male that we know of, and we have not seen any movement. Just wanted to make sure this could be normal. |
| Could be a false pregnancy. if there is even a CHANCE she could have been exposed to an intact male see your vet. There should be no" that we know of" You should know without a doubt whether there was a chance she mated or not at all. |
Are these Great Tits? (pics)? Just having a bit of trouble telling, so could you guys help me out by letting me know it these are great tits or not?

How old is Great Tit's chick when it becomes an adult? And also.. when does it change color of plumage on its belly rom yellow-white (like in here: allatfigyelo.lapunk.hu/tarhely/allatfigyelo/kepek/1138675_great_****_five_fledgelings_perched_in_row_parus_major_europe_posters.jpg) to bright yellow (like this: www.naturephoto-cz.com/photos/birds/great-tit-3066.jpg)?

bird banders often age bird by skulling, ie: looking at the top of the skull for fused bones. Birds like humans have "soft spots" that ossify as they mature. Titmice are mature in a year, their skulls in 6 or so months. |
Dim coloured great ****? ive seen loads of these in my garden and there really bright and colourful. then another one just like it flew in but it was dark and dim any reasons why? |
What in the world are you talking about? What is a "great ****" ???
Are you in Australia? I'm going by your spelling of the word "color." If so, it's probably a young version of the "great ****", which has not molted and gotten its bright "great ****" feathers yet, which in birds generally signals adulthood and the ability to mate. |
WOMEN...what would you rather have an amazing butt or great ****...? MEN...what do you prefer an amazing butt and ok boobs or great boobs and a blah butt? |
